The Citroën 2CV (French: “deux chevaux” i.e. “deux chevaux vapeur”, literally “two tax horsepower”) was an economy car produced by the French automaker Citroën between 1948 and 1990. It was technologically advanced and innovative, but with uncompromisingly utilitarian unconventional looks, and deceptively simple Bauhaus inspired bodywork, that belied the sheer quality of its underlying engineering. It was designed to move the French peasantry on from horses and carts. It is considered one of Citroën's most iconic cars.

According to Hagerty's, Citroën sold roughly 1000 Citroën 2CVs in the States.

* Estimated milage. Odometer turned over. Service records show 95,000 km (59,000 miles) as of year of import in 2008, with only another 13,000km (8000 mi) added since 2008.

All of Joy's service through the entirety of her time with us, and with her previous owner has been completed by Dave Burnham - the infamous Citroën whisperer in Delanson, NY. We have service records for Joy dating back to 2008 when her previous owners purchased her, as well as other fun Citroën accoutrements that we inherited.
Joy has never let us down, even after being garaged every winter we have had her, she starts immediately back up come Springtime. She does have some rust on the undercarriage, primarily on the panels and the panel braces; one lateral rust spot on the rear frame, that will need to be addressed in the near future, which is reflected in the current asking price.

Drive as is and enjoy, or restore if you so choose.
